A large hospital network in Asia Pacific wants to establish a common clinical quality benchmark across multiple hospitals and clinical centers with wide variation in number of beds, specialization and local dynamics. They need a standard scorecard to achieve consistency and global standards in clinical quality metrics. This entails analysis of multiple data sources to establish accurate and consistent metrics.
Axtria developed a Clinical Quality balanced scorecard implemented as a cloud based dashboard. The Clinical Quality dashboard provides a common metric and quality measurement framework to enable evidence based quality care, a safe environment for patients and improved functional efficiency.
We studied various Clinical Quality benchmarks and collaborated with client clinical experts to define a core set of metrics. We segmented the centers based on bed size and services to align metrics by hospital segments and created a data catalog from different source systems. This has been used to design a data model and standardize terminologies from different sources (Rx Norm-NDC, CPT-HCPCS). We implemented a Dot Net based Clinical Quality Dashboard hosted in a cloud based environment. The dashboard is used to review monthly summary of Quality Metrics by steering committee to define actions by each center. Trend analysis is being done to initiate transformation programs for consistent poor performance.
