Axtria is pleased to announce the Winter 2024 release of Axtria DataMAxTM, our AI-powered, cloud-based data management platform that streamlines data integration, enforces business rules, enhances data quality and compliance, and provides actionable insights for life sciences organizations.
This update includes new features designed to enhance business and commercial user experience, and make data discovery, cataloging and quality management faster and more accurate. It focuses on efficient business rule configurations and streamlines user experiences leveraging GenAI capabilities.
What’s New in the Winter ’24 Release?
New impact features to accelerate commercial execution
A. Empowering business and commercial users through our enhanced Business Rules Management System (BRMS) module
With this release, business users can create and customize rules seamlessly, with minimum dependence on the IT organization. Additionally, the system’s intuitive interface and automated features significantly reduce the complexity involved in managing business rules.
The new release focuses on improving the user experience with the addition of chatbot assistants, automatic description generation for rules, and editing data using natural language.
- BRMS Text To Task: Axtria DataMAxTM now allows users to create and modify rules using a chatbot interface in BRMS. Simply describe the configuration you would like to create in natural language, and the chatbot will implement the changes in real-time.
- BRMS Table Editor (formerly known as BRMS Augmentation): Addressing missing records in data is now simplified with Axtria DataMAx’s updated BRMS Table Editor feature. The improved interface includes options for creating rule configurations, setting approvers and business users, and defining table attributes with validations.
- BRMS Subset (formerly known as BRMS Inclusion / Exclusion): Recognizing the need for including only a subset of data when creating business rules, the existing framework is now simpler and shorter to make subset level data changes. This update further simplifies the process, allowing for an easier visualization of changes as they are made.
- BRMS Rule Description: To further promote a common understanding of existing business rules, a new GenAI–based feature has been created that generates rules automatically, eliminating manual efforts involved in providing accurate descriptions.
The generated description clearly outlines the purpose of the business rule so that it can be reused for similar use cases encountered later.
B. Leverage GenAI to streamline data discovery in your commercial business
Simplified and streamlined data filtering and profiling:
Axtria DataMAxTM now features two GenAI-powered chatbots designed to help you quickly find the most relevant data for your business requirements.
- Catalog Chatbot: Easily discover the tables with a pharma-centric data catalog that best meet your requirements. Simply ask a question in natural language and the chatbot will provide easily understandable details on the recommended table name, attributes, and use cases, allowing you to determine the best ones to use.
- Data Discovery Chatbot: Determining the right data sources and key performance indicators to answer your business questions is now easier than ever thanks to the Data Discovery Chatbot.
Simply provide your business requirements and the chatbot will respond with the most accurate recommendations, sourced across the most common data providers for the pharmaceutical industry. Once you’re satisfied with the suggestions, you can easily export them to a business requirements document that summarizes your conversation for easy sharing with your brand team.

A. Reimagined Data Catalog
Simplified and streamlined data filtering and profiling:
With the new Data Catalog interface, users can make data classification and tagging more efficient and improve your commercial data readiness.
- Streamlined Filtering Capabilities: Easily and efficiently create both simple column-based filters and advanced multi-column filters using an intuitive filtering mechanism, saving time and making it easy to discover the data you are most interested in.
- Enhanced Data Profiling: Choose from 3 different types of profiling reports, each providing different levels of detail into your data.
B. Detailed Data Quality module with GenAI checks
Instant quality checks for accurate information:
The improved Data Quality module offers detailed insights into the consistency of your data. Automatic recommendations for data quality checks are generated using GenAI, allowing for easy identification and resolution of problematic records to ensure quicker access to accurate information.
C. Axtria DataMAxTM GenAI Upgrade to GPT-4o
All our GenAI features have been updated to use Azure Open AI’s newest model, GPT-4o. This upgrade makes the recommendations better and more accurate, helping users progress quickly in their journey from data to insights.
D. Expanded support to Azure Databricks for MDM Axtria DataMAXTM integration
Prebuilt connectors now work with Azure Databricks, as well as AWS and Azure Snowflake. They help manage delta records by loading them into Master Data Management (MDM) systems and retrieving MDM data for Axtria DataMAxTM. These connectors are available for both Customer MDM (Azure Snowflake and Databricks) and Product MDM sources, allowing easy integration across AWS and Azure.
- In addition to Axtria DataMaxTM on AWS and Azure Snowflake, customers can now use Azure Databricks as a deployed warehouse. Azure Databricks offers robust features and optimizations. This integration enhances data processing capabilities, scalability, and analytics within our platform.
